Surf Technologies, Inc. President to Speak to Electric Industry IT Executives
ATLANTA, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Surf Technologies, Inc. announced today that its President, Jacques Davignon, will be speaking to a group of information technology executives during the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Annual Meeting (NRECA) to be held in Orlando, Florida during the week of February 13th.
Surf Technologies, Inc., a highly-focused management consulting firm, is the Southeast's leader in business continuity / disaster recovery consulting and advisory services. Mr. Davignon will discuss industry relevant legislation affecting information technology management, evolving challenges in contingency planning as well as lessons arising from the threats businesses faced in 2005.
"Contingency planning historically had been the by-product of good business practice and it served to differentiate skilled survivors from high-stakes gamblers. Increasingly contingency plans are being legislated by the government in an attempt to protect our economy and the critical infrastructure that it relies upon. Now, planning for continuity of operations is becoming a prerequisite to being in business in the 21st century and it is the new trademark of the skilled survivor. During 2005 we saw vivid proof of the need to plan for continuity of operations as many companies experienced impact to their business as a result of one or more realized threats. The surprise for many of them was that a significant vulnerability was uncovered and exploited even though the threat did not directly impact their facilities or assets. It is this evolution of contingency planning that will serve as the theme for our presentation next week before such a prominent group," stated Mr. Davignon.
